Which plants to test
We've launched these new products for two popular garden crops: tomatoes and potatoes
If you’re one of the many gardeners who grow either tomatoes or potatoes, then Pocket Check is for you. If your plants show disease symptoms, they can be tested right through the season.
For both tomato and potato plants, be aware of the risk of blight (caused by the fungus Phytophthora) when the weather is wet. Blight will quickly ruin crops, and any affected potatoes will not store through the winter.
If you’re growing potatoes for seed, you need to look out for aphids in the crops which could be carrying Potato virus Y. May, June and July are the main months for aphids in your crops.
There’s plenty to keep you busy this summer - and Pocket Check will help you keep disease at bay.
