Testing tomato plants
You need to be alert to signs of disease, and to act quickly to prevent spread
That’s where Pocket Check fits in to your gardening programme. Now you can identify symptoms as soon as they appear and make the right decisions about what treatment, if any, is needed.
Pocket Check tests will detect four damaging diseases of tomatoes:
The main diseases likely to be seen on tomatoes grown in the garden or glasshouse affect the leaves and stems. Keep a regular watch for unusual patches on the leaves, or distorted growth – these symptoms suggest disease may be present. If you’re not sure what the problem is, use a test to confirm the cause.
Pocket Check tests can be used throughout the growing season, whatever the size of plant.
Remember that there are many other diseases which can affect tomatoes. If the Pocket Check test shows a negative result it may mean that one of these other diseases is present. Consult a reputable source of gardening advice such as the RHS if unsure about the health of your plants.
